Peter D. Adkison

Chairman & CEO

Peter D. Adkison was the founder of Wizards of the Coast and served as its CEO until January 2001. During his time at Wizards, Adkison played a leading role in the launch of Magic: The Gathering, the Magic: The Gathering pro tour, the acquisition of TSR, and the launch of Dungeons & Dragons Third Edition. He currently owns and manages games and Star Wars conventions as the owner of Gen Con, LLC. He enjoys gaming, rock climbing, snowboarding, dancing, and travel, and is married to Melissa Reis Adkison. Adkison has an MBA from the University of Washington.
 

Michael Song

Rustic Canyon Partners

Michael Song helped form Rustic Canyon in 1999. Michael offers a wealth of hands-on business development, technology and M&A experience. Previously, he was director of corporate investments with Times Mirror, overseeing its venture capital portfolio. Prior to his tenure at Times Mirror, Michael was a consultant with the Los Angeles office of the Boston Consulting Group, where he focused on online financial services, convergence issues, high technology and aerospace. Before joining the Boston Consulting Group, he was an investment banking associate in the emerging markets group at Lehman Brothers.

Michael earned an M.B.A. with distinction from the Wharton School of Business and he received his bachelor's degree magna cum laude in international relations from Brown University. Michael sits on numerous corporate Boards on behalf of Rustic Canyon. Michael is also Treasurer/Board member of the Korean-American Coalition, Treasurer/Board member of Upward Bound House, and is on the Board of the Santa Monica Symphony Association. He also serves on the Finance Advisory Committee for Phillips Exeter Academy and on the Advisory Committee for Diversity for Brown University.

 

Gus Tai

Gus began his operational career in engineering management at Digital Equipment Corporation. Thereafter, as a consultant with Bain & Company, he worked with technology firms on new product development and business strategy. Gus joined Trinity Ventures in 1996, specializing in funding early-stage companies that pioneer new market categories.

Gus has been involved in numerous investments including Amalfi Semiconductor, Aventail, Blue Nile (NILE), eSurance (acquired by White Mountains Insurance: WTM), Invio Software (acquired by Veritas: VRTS), Jobster, KIVA Software (acquired by AOL/Netscape: AOL), Modulus Video, mSpot, Photobucket, Playfirst, scanR, SpeedEra Networks (acquired by Akamai Technologies: AKAM), Sygate Technologies (acquired by Symantec: SYMC), Trion World Network, and Wetpaint. Gus currently sits on the Boards of Amalfi Semiconductor, mSpot, PlayFirst, Photobucket, scanR, Trion World Network, and WetPaint. Gus received his M.B.A. from the MIT Sloan School of Management and his M.S. in Materials Science and Engineering, also from MIT. He received an A.B. in Applied Mathematics from Harvard University.

 

Vince Caluori

Board Member

From 1997 to 2002, Vince was COO, President, and then CEO of Wizards of the Coast, where he oversaw day-to-day operations and provided leadership to a peak staff of 1800 employees. Under his direction, Wizards emerged as a key market leader, generating revenues of $780 million. Prior to his tenure at Wizards, Vince managed Space Division Business Development at the Boeing Company. He established an unprecedented competitive sales record winning over 90% of all bids to NASA and the United States Air Force. Vince began his engineering career at Boeing and was promoted to Principal Engineer for a number of programs including the B1 bomber, the Space Shuttle, the Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS), military derivatives of Boeing's commercial airplanes, C-14 Advanced STOL transport and NASA-Navy VSTOL. Vince has a B.S. in Aeronautical Engineering from St. Louis University. Vince is currently CEO and President of Cordance Corp, a supplier of internet infrastructure.
